The Fundação Cidade de Lisboa's Portuguese Language Level A1 course is designed to help participants acquire the basics of the Portuguese language, both in oral and written communication. With a total of 75 hours, this training allows you to understand and transmit essential information and to know the basics of grammatical structures and vocabulary.  

The program covers practical everyday topics, including personal identification, requests for information, food, daily routines, leisure, vacations and health. In addition, participants will learn how to correctly use numbers, adjectives, directions and basic instructions.

Portuguese language course in Lisbon level A2 

The Fundação Cidade de Lisboa's A2 level Portuguese course is an opportunity to develop language skills and consolidate essential knowledge for communicating in Portuguese. With 75 hours, this course helps participants to understand and use common expressions, ask basic questions and interact in personal and professional contexts.  

The program includes topics such as personal introductions, understanding advertisements and services, narrating past events, forecasting the future, healthy eating, exercise and health. In addition, fundamental grammatical structures are worked on so that trainees can express opinions, describe experiences and interact with greater fluency.  

To join, you need to have an A1 level in Portuguese, proven by an assessment test or previous certificate. The training includes support materials, pedagogical support and a certificate of completion, at a cost of €375. Portuguese language course in Lisbon level B1 

The City of Lisbon Foundation's B1 level Portuguese course is designed for adults with an A2 level of Portuguese, proven by a certificate or assessment test. With a workload of 75 hours, the course aims to improve participants' language skills, enabling them to understand and produce simple, coherent speeches on familiar topics of personal, professional and educational interest.   

The program includes six units: Personal and professional life, where communication in social and work contexts is worked on; Leisure activities, addressing interests and hobbies; Interculturality, which explores Portuguese culture and compares it with those of the participants' origin; Current affairs, discussing contemporary issues; Attitudes and citizenship, focusing on rights and duties; and Dreams and ambitions, working on expressing plans and goals. Intensive Initiation Course

This Portuguese course is ideal for those who want to take their first steps in Portuguese. With 25 hours, this intensive program allows you to develop essential comprehension and communication skills, covering basic vocabulary, everyday expressions and fundamental grammar rules. The course requires no previous knowledge of Portuguese.   

Classes include practical activities such as dialogue simulations and interactive exercises, helping participants to gain confidence when communicating in real situations.  

In addition to pedagogical and administrative support, trainees receive study materials and, at the end, a certificate of completion. Intercultural Conversation Group 

The Intercultural Conversation Group at the City of Lisbon Foundation is a dynamic space where participants can practice and improve their communication skills in Portuguese in a natural and engaging way. Lasting 25 hours, this group allows for the sharing of interests and experiences, helping to develop language skills in everyday contexts.  

The program focuses on improving oral fluency, promoting spontaneous interactions and cultural exchanges between participants. Through practical activities and thematic discussions, trainees gain confidence in expressing themselves in Portuguese.  

Open to all levels of language proficiency, this group is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to improve their communication skills in Portuguese in a collaborative environment.
